Honestly, I never really cared a lot about “About Me” pages. After reading your blog post and watching your video, I think this was a big mistake. So, it’s time for me now to spend some time on my “About Me” page.

Great Robert…I hope the video helps as the ‘About Me’ page is often the most viewed on your site.

I totally agree, every site, blog or company site should have an About page. Visitors want to know more about you/your company, so instead of making them dig around your site or Google it’s good to have a visible link to the About page. It does vary what a person puts on the page but as long as it’s concise and flows with the rest of the site it should be good to go.

Does people actually click on your about-page often? I guess the people who are really interested in your site will. Should update my about page. I must say: It’s not very informative! Thank you for this kind reminder.

This is perfect timing for me – I’m starting me own business website and I’m stressing over design and content. This will help! Thank you!

Oops, I meant a couple-few on the about page is fine but don’t over-do it.

Linkage is why I’m considering a navigational static home page. A couple-few on the home page is fine, but don’t over-do it.

Thanks for the info, Andrew

I like most of your examples here – although some of seem a little boring, but that comes down to personal style.
They’re all well structured and have tons, and I mean tons of links.

I really need to link it up ! (I haven’t got a single link on my about page, Heck !)
Every day I’m thinking about improving my page, as I want it to kick ass as much as possible ! I’m getting there, I’m getting there….
thanx !

Mars

About pages are very much down to personal taste but you do want a few links…even if it’s to your contact page or fav blog post.

After you have nice design and great content for web site, the focus has covered the subtle areas too which is able to present nice impression and demonstrate personality. I’m too going to edit my about page soon.
