user interface design

Have you ever wondered why your website or application still does not gain the recognition you expected? It is necessary that any design has to be looked at the user’s point of view. It is after all the user who will be working with the application. A good interface design should possess various qualities and features both technical and non-technical. Only then will a product survive in the competitive market place.

Here are 4 techniques that will help you create an application that is of international standards.

Important changes should be highlighted

It is very important that a good website also has to be an interactive one. Though the pages are static, the look and feel of the website and the user experience can be brought out to a different level. To mention a few examples, the implementation of AJAX can be a very good idea since it gives a few extra options to the user when searching for something. In an ecommerce shopping cart, there can be minimal use of animations that tells the visitor that the right things are being done. Not only does this make browsing interesting but also helps the user avoid simple errors and saves time when performing a particular task by denoting what is happening in that page.  It is also very important to note that excessive use of animations and graphics can slow down the loading speed of the website.

Enabling keyboard shortcuts helps to a great extent

This can be a very good time saving option when it comes to an interactive design. This also helps the user to accomplish their task at a greater speed. These days, all the software and applications come with a dedicated manual that explains the shortcuts only. It is also very important that you place the shortcuts at the appropriate keys. It would not make sense if the shortcut keys for back and forth pages are placed at different ends of the keyboard. Hence, implementing the right shortcuts at the right places can be a very good idea that enhances an interactive design.

The My Account page can contain upgrades

This is one of the best ways to acknowledge the users who have used the application. The common mindset of people is to work on the trial version of an application and then subscribe for the full version if necessary. So it is very important that the account page of the user offers the choice for them to upgrade to a newer version of the existing one. The designer should also make sure the interface is quite simple and easy-to-use. The content can also talk about briefly describing what the updated version contains.

Advertise for better visibility

There may be users who come to know in detail about the particular application. But there are another category of users who are not extensive internet users. How to market your application to them? It is always advisable to advertise new features of the application in the website. The content has to be extremely attractive. It is also an interesting way to act by placing the up gradation link on the advertising area.

Web development Toronto has reached great heights. They are now capable of developing custom applications and incredible web designs. PHP web development is one area they focus on since a majority of the users prefer PHP.

AJAX animated elements can help any site, provided the aren’t done gratuitously. For instance, do they speed up or slow down a process by adding them? Looking cool doesn’t count in this case. For example, a login link might bring up an AJAX login modal window (like lala.com) that doesn’t cause the entire page to refresh. By using AJAX, the user gets to start using the site after logging in at least several seconds or more than if an entire page for account login had to load.

Keyword shortcuts are always so handy! They are usually one of the first things that I learn when I get a new piece of software.
