Something amazing happened yesterday, I can see my dream on the way to be true and I can see that our blog is heading right to the top of the Blogosphere.
Kristi of the Art of Blogging contacted me by email yesterday and she was having a high level of great news, she wanted to congratulate all our Blog Team for been listed on the top 100 small business on Technorati and right now we are the blog number six on the list, and guys this is really awesome, and it’s a great award for our team’s hard work.
Actually I was watching Technorati’s traffic through our dashboard but I didn’t notice that we are listed on the top 100 blogs.
This is so exciting, specially after only 5 months from starting our blog, we are competing with the greatest on Technorati directories.
What happened latter was more exciting, because at the end of the day I found out that we are listed again as one of the Top 100 business on Technorati, I was really… really excited of the good results, our blog is growing and competing with top sites on the blogosphere, and this is exactly what I was planning since the day one we started this blog, and I was talking about it over and over because this blog made to be on the top from it’s name.
I am so excited that I had to stop and check what I wrote again, because I went very far from the post topic lol, so I am actually deleting some part of the post now and writing it again 
OK, here we go, let’s talk about Technorati authority, and check how Technorati measure it and rank sites, maybe you know that they changed their ranking method recently after rebuilding Technorati new version.
How Technorati calculate authority?
I knew now how it works after reading the Technorati Authority FAQ page, your site will be listed topically by content category, and the most important factor of getting authority is linkbacks to your blog and how relevant these links are, and how your website’s influence within its subject category, you may read Technorati Authority FAQ page to get the whole idea and better understanding what authority means, but the most important thing for you to do now is to check the listing of your site and set categories to the most relevant to your content. Note that you also can be listed on top of more than one category at the same time like exactly what happened with this blog.
What about Alexa rank?
You may notice that our rank on Alexa is also increasing, and in this occasion I will take the chance to ask you to write a simple short review for our blog on Alexa and contact me with a link to you site and I will personally review yours, this help a lot to increase Alexa rank and all what it takes is a few minutes!

Thanks for sharing this info. Yesterday I almost fainted when my blog authority jumped 300 points. From 110 to 411. So trying to figure out the reason for this change.

After working hard for 2 months on my blog today i suddenly came to know that i got few visitor diverted from Technorati…..it forced me to check my technorati.
And at first i didn’t realize how i got 107 Authority because i didn’t do anything to build it.
Then i read what is Authority and their FAQ.
Then I googled about Technorati Authority and came to your blog…..

I’ve never had any luck with Technorati. I run a popular hobby website (not a large company, but it does well) but have never gotten a ranking above 4 (and it’s usually 1). I just migrated the blog from blogger to my own hosted site and hope that makes a difference. It’s been active for 7 years now and I haven’t gotten anything out of Technorati yet, but I’m hopeful.
We joined Technorati a couple of weeks ago and current authority of blog is 127. Somehow we got 5 extra points in terms of authority but seems like a long way ahead till we get at least 300 authority points.

I claimed my site in Technorati in June 2010, got stuck at 110 until today, I got +300 overnight and jumped to 410.
I don’t know what happened.

increasing alexa is not very hard, just install the alexa toolbar on your browser and set your site/blog as the homepage and watch your alexa rank sky rocket

the worst thing is that reviewme.com uses alexa and is very difficult to get a very good rank in alexa[100,000]even if you are receving 200+pageviews per day
We have reached 14.000 on Alexa now! and to do this you need good content that people would love to link to them, and also publish daily articles!

Awesome news indeed! I never really understood the importance or the fine details of how Technorati caculated, but I knew from researching prior that it would be a good thing to list your blog with Technorati, then build from there.

I did not realize that Famous Bloggers had so much authoriti on Technorati.
I just joined Technorati earlier today in order to build some authority for my own blog. I don’t have any real traffic yet. I am hopinig that by following the lead of others like some of the people who visit this site, I will be in a position to brag in maybe a year or two.

I know it can be hard to get a high authority on there due to the requirement of having to get back links from other claimed Technorati blogs. However, the Technorati favorite feature will get you noticed quickly if you use it enough.
I have found though that Technorati has been having problems ever since their new site launch back in Oct of 2009. I really hope they can get some of those issues sorted out soon.

that’s true, and probably our blog has some continues links from other claimed Technorati blogs and this is why we are some times up and some other times going down depending on how many links we gets! so it’s different from week to another!

My blog was removed from Technorati months ago and they have not re-added it, and I just stopped fighting… Technorati’s bad quality as a service and their inability to improve their system will eventually make them fail.
I used to think Technorati Top 100 in any category, let alone the main list, is important and means something, but how can it, when they are unable to add blogs to their directory?
But none of this is away from you, and by any metrics, Famous Bloggers has done great job after its launch – Great accomplishment and congratulations!

I sow so many complains, but I thought they are fixing their system on the last months, I lost my ranks for other sites, and I added FamousBloggers since the day on of it’s launch, it’s kind of automatic process for me (I add my new blogs everywhere I can when I start it) l then suddenly found that they start to give it authority earlier this month, and also my other blogs started to get back the rank one after one (the same old rank I guess) which makes me think that they are still working but I don’t know how they are doing it!
I agree with you, you are absolutely right about their bad quality service! or at least it’s kind of complicated as I am still discovering new things each visit!
I don’t know if you are going to try again, but FYI.. the categories and tags of your blog is very important when you add them, I have changed the categories several time now, the popular tags is those you should add, I have checked some popular sites and cheeked their categories to compare it with mine and I was not setting it well at the beginning!
Anyways, I am one day up and the next is down, what makes real different is when I got a few backlinks for a post with tags matches my Technorati tags!
I was just sharing what I know till now about Technorati, I hope it will be useful by any how, maybe they will add it again at any day!

That’s really a fantastic news! Well deserved. I have given up with Technorati months ago since the inconsistency of authority claiming process. Have wrote to support numerous times but still no feedback. 
I just went in the site and saw the account requesting for blog claiming, again. ha.. maybe I just don’t have the luck with it, but I’ll give it another shot. Reclaimed, hopefully this time, with a little luck shared by famousblogger about this great news, my blog can finally earn a tiny spot in Technorati. *finger cross*

Congratulations, and you have motivated me tremendously.
I’m not too worried about whether I make it into the Top 100 or not, but putting in a lot of effort to attempt it will increase the value of my site regardless of Technorati’s opinion.
And that’s the important part. Like writing, whether you finish your first draft or not, it’s almost always a spring board into something as good or better.

Actually I think Alexa rank is increasing because relevant links, so even if you don’t get too much links but still relevant this will work better when deciding what’s your blog about, also the reviews is something to consider!

Technorati has not been kinfd to my blog with an authority of 1, i don’t think they are indexing my blog, but i think all these things are not important if i am getting backlinks from other blogs

Congrats that pretty cool. I remember when I started blogging you would see those technorati add me buttons everywhere then they sort of BURST and their influence was dead. I hear about them starting an ad network a while back and I didn’t bother checking their site for along time. One time potpolitics was ranked real HIGH and they smacked it down because I do look good on their list
I did check now and see it’s in the 400′s which is good because I’m not concerned about their site. See on the internet you have to look out for people and have some of value. They play favs on there look at their sidebar on sites hottest they choose which ones to show out of the 100. If your a normal person and a hard working blogger you can make the TOP 100 the competition is really weak it just takes time and kissing up which is why I will never be on their list but I’m glad you are it’s looks great and reflects your hard work Congrats
They have done some other shifty things overt time but I don’t want to write a BOOK

And by the way, I didn’t put attention to technorati before, I just added my blog and picked the right categories and I forgot it, I realized it’s working when I notice traffic coming!
