Blogging has evolved so much over the past decade, that what was once a fun hobby and an offshoot of journalism has quickly become one of the easiest and fastest ways for anyone with a computer and an internet connection to write and produce content for viewers around the world.
One common question new bloggers ask is “how do I drive more traffic to my site.” The answer can range from creating link bait, writing controversial pieces that get attention, chatting with other bloggers in your niche that want to help promote your site to paid advertising.
But PPC (Pay Per Click) can be complicated for someone just starting out — But never fear, this guide should be just what you need to get the ball rolling (click to launch an interactive version):

Nice infographic. PPC is only worthwhile if there is a clear strategy to convert and monetize the traffic received, so it’s probably not suited to all bloggers. As per the comments above, starting small and with set daily budget limits is sound advice.

I think PPC is better for business promotion, not for blogging as it is expensive.

PPC can be VERY profitable but also VERY costly if you don’t know what you are doing. I would advise everyone that is new to PPC to never spend more than you can afford to lose cause it is definitely not unheard of new people losing hundreds of dollar overnight. Start slow and optimize as you go.

Thanks for this vital information sir.
Adwords can be a confusing minefield and it seems that every provider has a different view of what is important. This infographic makes things a lot clearer.

Hi Rob,
Personally – I think if one looks at the Noob guide to online marketing it correlates well with the info graphic from Google Adwords. This is great for using it as a guideline to the basics of your Social Media Marketing basics. After all – Targeted traffic is the key to having good conversion rate for your website and not a bounce rate climbing through the roof.

This is very useful. Adwords can be a confusing minefield and it seems that every provider has a different view of what is important. This infographic makes things a lot clearer.

Its a bit lengthy but worth the read I guess. When first starting our company also fiddled around with Adwords but didn’t get much success. Might give it another go after going through your guide.
