Steve Jobs Resigns

Letter from Steve Jobs
CUPERTINO, Calif.–To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

I saw a photo of Steve Jobs that was taken 2 days after he announced his resignation and he was so frail. I’m not sure if it wasn’t Photoshopped or something but nevertheless, it made my heart sink. Jobs was a revolution as a CEO and I guess it’s time for him to focus on getting well.

It really is a sad news that one of the best CEO of all time has now resigned. He took Apple to new heights with his innovative products. I wonder now how Apple will go forward without Jobs to guide them, hope so they still have a positive growth. Also about Steve Jobs, I saw his recent picture after resignation in TMZ and he really looks quite sick. Hope he gets well.

I truly believe he picked the perfect time for both Apple and himself. He is at the top of his game and Apple’s stock at its all time high.
The actual reasons for him to resign are not clear to me, but could be for health reasons as some stated. In any case, he took Apple when it was full of financial problems, he turned over the company and delivered what promised, great time to retire.

Actually we should congrats Steve as he can have more time to do stuff he wanted, I mean that’s how retirement is all about…

Very Nice post.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful content!
I’m not an Apple user but I have a great respect for Mr. Jobs! This man had a great influence on the modern world.
Well I can’t say I’m not glad to see some new blood take over, the macbooks and imacs haven’t had any significant changes for a long time. I’m addicted to upgrading but right now even I can’t justify it. This whole thing seems a bit odd though, the note is more like a rushed upset suicide letter than a resignation from a fortune 500 ceo.

No surprise, the front page of Mashable.com is dedicated for him.
I guess that there’s nothing to be sad about this news.. every ending is just the start of new beginning.. he has done his part and i think that he is satisfied with what he has accomplished..
If I were Steve Jobs I would go buy a tropical island in the caribbean and live happily ever after. If his resignation is truly related to ongoing health problems why not go enjoy what life you have left. I am pretty sure he could afford to do so. I really hope he is alright in terms of health though. He seems to have been the voice for Apple for a long time now, and most people seem to like him better than many other ceo’s out there.

If anyone deserves a little free time it’s someone like Steve Jobs so more power to him, even though he’ll be running the board now. I would have been sitting on a beach somewhere years ago.

Aww! Sad day for the Apple community and people who really liked Jobs as CEO. I wonder if it is because of his health.
