Hello NiceBlogger great article. I always tell people, I know nothing about SEO, I only know what I”m told to do my the plugins others write for me. Saying I’m a SEO specialist is like saying I can code but all I can really do is copy and paste.

I know my place on the web and I know blog engage is lacking in SEO many people have told me I need to build a larger internal linking network but I just don’t have time or know how.

Antti – quite true which is what makes me so irked. Link building is literally the essence of Googles main ranking algorithm, and not to soon change.

If newbies were just taught the three simple basics, content, links, keyword research, they would be a lot better off and have a lot more money in their pocket…not paying for what’s so easily free.

Dennis, “advanced” doesn’t mean I think it’s hard, I’m just saying that your average-joe doesn’t even know what link building is, so it is, in that sense, advanced.

And as you can see from my other comments (especially the looong) one, I totally agree that SEO experts tend to over-mystify it all and make it sound harder than it is.

Whoa, hold on a sec their chief, I’d like a little more explanation on this one. As I see it, this is the main problem with supposed “SEO Experts” and their trying to make everything more complicated then it needs to be.

(No offense, I’m not referring to you persay)

Link building IS required and is as basic as you can get when doing SEO; not the act of perhaps, but the necessity of it.
