Today, I received an email from HootSuite team about their affiliate program, HootSuite is migrating the Affiliate Program exclusively to an external platform, they have already signed up to ShareASale Affiliate Network, beside being on Commission Junction.
HootSuite is celebrating!
HootSuite will give all existing affiliates an increase of 5% revenue share for the first 2 months of referrals if they migrate to ShareASale before the March 8, deadline! This is HootSuite trying to make it a good move!
So, this means you may want to signup to their affiliate program at ShareASale now!
I already done that because I like to deal with ShareASale, and I have no problem moving and changing my affiliate links. I got approved by HootSuite affiliate manager on the same dat, that was fast!
What about you?
How do you Manage your Affiliate Links?
You see, moving from an affiliate network or a program to another requires that you change your affiliate links, this could be painful if you place your affiliate links directly to your posts, you will need to edit all posts and replace the old links with the new ones. (I hope you are not doing it this way).
To solve this problem, you need an easy way to manage affiliate links.
You need a plugin like Thirsty Affiliates, simply it’s the best!

Hootsuite is a necessity for every social media manager or everyone who wants to make use of social media. I’m only using the free version, but i intend to upgrade by the next month. Thanks Hesham

I’ve been using ShareASale for a while, mostly for StudioPress themes, but will definitely apply for the HootSuite program too.

It was probably the smart move to migrate to ShareASale. You have limited exposure when an affiliate program is run exclusively through your own website. On ShareASale you get exposed to say many more affiliates and all the reporting framework is all there to use.
I do agree that affiliate marketers shouldn’t just be putting direct links into their posts. This can lead to hassles down the road. I prefer to just create redirect files myself which I can later edit if necessary.

Hi Jeremy,
I don’t think Hootsuite are seeking exposure, they are well known in the business now, however it’s always good idea to get more exposure. But, probably their main reason is a better affiliate management, and giving more options for their affiliates.
Thanks fro stopping by.

They may be well known, but you can be sure that their affiliate marketing department is under pressure to expand to more affiliates. It’s a lot more challenging getting new affiliates when they have to go out and find them as opposed to all the ones who will now be able to find them through ShareASale. Some affiliates also trust an affiliate program more when it is through a well known network.

You’re so right about using an affiliate management plugin. I’ve been using Thirsty Affiliates from last few months and have to say it’s an awesome plugin & works way much better than ninja aff. plugin.
