Google has updated it’s PageRank today, I just noticed that while checking one of my blogs and found out that my Chrome pagerank checker says PR 3 for that blog, so I kept checking my other blogs and some other friends’ blogs to make sure that the update occurred for real, so this is a quick post to let you know and to share some thoughts, I think this update is so freaking fair, what about you?!
The most fair Google PageRank I ever seen since I’ve started blogging!
Yes, this is the most Google PageRank update I ever came across, seriously!
I don’t care that much about PageRank since a few months back, but anyways it’s cool to see a rank on my sites! I can’t hide the dumb smile I had today when I found out the a few other sites got a PR for the first time.
Why my other sites is having a PR drop?
A few sites of mine dropped, those sites were not updated often, no body cares to link to them, I don’t really bother to get backlinks to them, and to be honest, those sites don’t provide value like they used to be, so I completely understand why the drop happened.
Check your Google PageRank Now!
Here is the link to Google PageRank checker tool.
I wonder if Google will keep the update going, this is July 2011 update, so the next update should be in three months from now, the next PR update will be next October if I am right!
Have you notice any changes to your site’s PageRank? Positive or negative?
What you did to get higher Google PageRank?
Please, share your blog’s PR and let us know whither you think it’s fair or not!

Hello Hesham,
Yes google has updated PR. My websites PR has been increased from PR0 to PR2. Now I am happy with my hard word and patience.
Cheers!!
Jarret July 23, 2011 at 11:14 am
Hesham, initially I was happy with this update. One site went from 0 to 3, another 3 to 4, and my other site just stayed at PR3. Then last week, the first site went down to 2 and the second went from 4 to 2. It looks like 2 of the 3 sites got some type of PR penalty last week which is odd because I don’t buy or sell links or otherwise violate webmaster TOS. Thoughts?
Tia July 27, 2011 at 2:31 pm
Jarret- apparently there was a mix-up of some sort. Bizchickblogs had gotten an increase and then got it taken away in the same week. It happened to a bunch of sites so you’re not the only one.

My blog jumped to PR 2 from 0 in this update …. BTW congrats to you !!
Mayur July 16, 2011 at 7:57 am
Yes, last week i was surprised to see that google had updated the page rank. One of my other sites got a PR3 from PR1. I had a feeling that its PR would increase because there has been a traffic spike on it since last 3 months.

While my blog’s home page PR stayed the same (3), many (and I mean many, even pages like advertise, about…!) have gotten a PR2. Most of these page didn’t have any PR before. I believe the most important thing that helped me here is my internal lining structure. Not trying to sound cocky, but I think I did a good job on that by linking to at least one other post from any given post and not over doing it.
Either way, you can almost sense a new change in Google’s calculation.

Besides for the Page Rank checker tool, there are also a number of nifty Chrome Extensions that will check the PR of a given page. I personally like “SEO Site Tools.” Check ‘em out in the Google Extensions search!

I have experienced what you’ve been too in regards to your other site which is dropping PR. I have noticed that blog since it’s very active because it’s where you share your thoughts and things you do in that day and be able to exchange thoughts from your visitors.

Mine went from 1 to 4 to I am happy as can be. Also noticed a recent uptick in traffic, so I am getting a bigger share of search engine traffic. Have spent a long time building quality links, so it is starting to pay off. Thanks for the heads up Hesham!

Adrienne June 30, 2011 at 2:15 pm
Hey Hesham,
I had to come over here and comment on this post. Why? Because I’m upset with this recent change. My blog dropped from a PR4 to a PR2 and I blog weekly, get lots of traffic and some awesome comments. Me and some of my blogging friends are scratching our heads over this one.
I’ve made no significant changes to my blog whatsoever and all my readers feel my content is very relevant. Who knows, I can’t figure it out so I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing and keep moving in the direction I’m headed. But I am thrilled for all of those who saw an increase. PR may not matter to some, but when yours goes up it’s an awesome feeling. Like all this hard work you’ve done means something in the eyes of Google. All I know is that they don’t like me anymore.

Hi Adrienne, probably you haven’t got enough backlinks to hold the blog PR this time, please don’t be upset, next time it will be fine!
Yeap, if you did something and it’s working for you then do it more!
I wish you good luck next update, and many thanks for stopping by my post and share your thoughts.

We are excited as well. Our site just went from a pr3 up to a pr5. We also got 2 of our seo clients sites up from a pr0 to a pr4. This panda algorithm is rewarding the good sites and penalizing the bad it seems.

I had some go up and some go down slightly nothing major. I think for most google was pretty generous this time around. The funny thing is google.com dropped from a pr10 to pr9. There are a few sites with strange changes I’ve read about. Maybe they will have a minor update in the coming weeks to tweak a few of the strange ones. But, like I said most people seem to be content with the results.

LOL! Man, wow.. I didn’t notice that.. yes Google.com has a PR 9 now!
I think they need more backlinks
James Martell June 29, 2011 at 10:10 pm
Hi Hesham,
I was reading above and got a chuckle when I read the comment “PageRank doesn’t matter”. It’s been my experience that comment quickly changes from “PageRank doesn’t matter” to “Yipee I have a PageRank 3″ when their PageRank bar is finally updated.

Read on one site positive feedback about your blog. Initially did not believe it, but now convinced personally. It turns out I was not deceived.

Thanks for the shout out! I did indeed notice the new page rank, and I thought it was due to some changes I had made to my sites/blogs! Now I know better!

Wow, my blog (that I did not update for 1 month) with about 30 posts, which is about 5 months old has a page rank of 2! That’s ridicilious! But I am not going to complain, anyway
That’s interesting indeed… I did not do any backlinks or whatsoever, but my blog still has a page rank of 2
.

Hesham June 29, 2011 at 5:00 am
mmm.. interesting!
But you know Matt, if you think about it you will find out that PR 2 is really low rank.. It’s 2 out of 10, this is really low rank but it indicates something good anyways!
