Google PageRank update is knocking the doors of your blog, are you Ready?

by on March 24, 2010 · 86 comments

Are you bored of hearing about Google PageRank over and over? Well there must be some other bloggers out there who are more excited to know what PR Google will decided for their blogs this time more than you do. But both of you are invited to a little chat today about Google PageRank and SEO.

The coming PageRank update is probably by will happen at the end of this month, march 2010, I am not so sure as no body knows the exact day, but it means that there is no time, so I am not going to ask you what you are going to do, but I will ask you what you have done for your blog to get a higher page rank? And are you ready for the next Google PR update?

Maybe some of you don’t believe of don’t care that much for pagerank, but personally I believe of Google PageRank, because I follow what advertisers are looking for in a blog.

I am waiting for the next update since the last one occurred, it a part of my blogging challenge, I need to know if I am going toward the right way or not, and because I have worked so hard on the last three months on FamousBloggers.net blog, I am looking forward to see the results of my work, I will so excited if I got a page rank of 4 for this round, as I think a 5 stars Page Rank is not easy to get and it probably needs more harder work and domain name age.

Have we earned any experiences?

If you are a regular reader of FamousBloggers.net blog, then I am 100% sure that the last three months of visiting our blog has changed the way you look to YOUR blog, as we was publishing all money making related topics for you, and we was exchanging our experiences everyday together while commenting and networking, so there must be a change happen during that time!

There were great bloggers doing awesome guest blogging for FamousBloggers.net, and no matter what we do we will never be able to return their favor, those bloggers were sharing the best of their work with us, and publishing it to our blog believing it’s the right place for these content to be placed, and trusting us to take care of their content, and we will work hard to meet their expectations.

Have we reached the end of post?

Absolutely NOT! This is only the beginning of this post, I am done with the <head>, and I will move to the comment section <body> to talk with you and have a little good chat about anything comes into our mind regarding Google PageRank and SEO, what we have learned from each other, and what’s our expectations for the next Page Rank update, so meet me below and let’s have some fun.

Pagerank definitely does not have the importance that people give it. However, since advertisers factor it in, you should too if you want to make money from those advertisers.

Hi,
The redirection will transfer the pagerank within a week or so, which means youngprepro will have pagerank 4 very soon(I think Google has not noticed the redirection yet).
I have discovered that most of my posts are also having pagerank 2, my twitter profile @dataentryforall is 5, your twitter profile @famousbloggers is also 5:-)
Thanks a lot.

As It is time to update PR , I think google is aware of April Fools day to update pr on Ist April 2010. LOL!!!
You may seen there are some tools available to check the pr.
These tools are basically set to measure only a few variables while as google measures are several times sophisticated. NO tool can tell you exact prediction even there are some websites tools which show very high or very low results. One you mentioned is showing pr10 is just set to display that while some of them are set to display zero. If you want to see reliability of the tool just check their own site for pr or some known site and you will see how the trend is set by so called tool masters.(say I have given subject for article on the issue)

I’ve only been into blogging for the past year or so and was seeing very good Google rankings… up until about a week ago that is! I don’t think this update was kind to me as all my best keywords have all but disappeared. It does seem to be slowly coming back – I’ll be interested to see further developments regarding this Google update.
Cheers for the great posts!

Hi Hesham, I really hope the PR will update as soon as possible, because my blog (which is already 2 month old but has some quality backlinks) still has PR 0 :-)
There are some websites that claim to show you the “real PR” (the one that isn’t published yet and resides in Google servers only) but I didn’t find it to be true.

What i think matters most is trustrank and i think i am getting a little of that, i wrote about “dennis edell comment contest” and I am now on the first page even though others wrote about it and even anchored text links were pointed to Dennis Edell’s website. I think the secret is to try to acquire as much backlinks as possible from edu, gov, mil and very powerful trusted sites.

Working on my 4th blog to go through its first PR scrutiny, this time I am presenting a blog with close to 90 days full of work. The sad part is after the first ranking, I pay little if any attention to the benchmark after that. I have only created personal blogs on popular topics for my own/a few amusement, however, I think this time regardless of the competition I am going to set a goal of a PR5 after three years. That should be a realistic goal that will take some dedicated effort?

Why are you waiting for the little green bar to move? PageRank is regularly (dare I say constantly) re-calculated and only the export happens roughly once every 3 months.

Not too eager to see what mine is, PageRank is almost meaningless, and as long as you work on internal and homepage links your site should do fine.

A date of the next update? April 1st. Google will put everybody up to PR10 just for fun :)

My pagerank on my blog went from PR5 to PR3 in the last years, but the traffic/earnings went up, so I would be happy to drop to PR2 if the traffic is also still going up. Only advantage for a high PR is indeed linkbuilding.

I am not worried… after a long hiatus during 2008, it hurt my site. In 2009, I went from a PR1- PR4. I have been a PR5 and so that is my goal.

Google usually updates page rank once a month during the first week… at least that is what I have noticed.

You can check your Google Webmaster Tools to see how your site’s range may effect how your next page rank will be.

I think I will still be at PR0, but I don’t worry too much about page rank. MY blogs get good traffic, my readers are happy, and I dont give control of my site to Google. I don’t need them. Most of my traffic comes from social sites, and other places I hang out. If Google wants to rank my site and give me more, then cool, but think about this… if the “Great and mighty Google” disapeared would you be out of busines? most people would be because that is all they care about. Search rankings are great, but if you focus on other sources of traffic, you wont care about PR which incidentally means NOTHING anyway…I have PR0 sites outranking Pr7 sites on MULTIPLE search terms…

The next PR update is much needed for my sites. I have several sites that are sitting at PR0 that will definitely be PR3. I mainly use PR as a way to gauge a site for link exchanges. With a higher pagerank i’ll be able to get deals with higher “authoritative” sites.

I have a new social bookmark site, I hope to get some rank because with a higher rank it will get more attention as it’s a way to set backlinks!

I also recently started 2 sites and of course it will remain PR0 even after this coming update, it’s so so new!

I wish you all the luck!

Reply

Keith from BlogTips March 24, 2010 at 4:47 pm

I don’t sell much advertising so PR doesn’t mean much to me (unless mine goes up, then it will!). Really it depends on your niche though, I have a site that is a PR1 and I sold $20k worth of products in the last 10days on that site, because I rank for specific “buy” terms with it though.

Also, advertisers I have dealt with on other sites I own are more concerned with traffic and views than PR.

I don’t think it is as important as Google wants us to think it is, but it still has value….

And yeah it depends mostly on niche and the products you are selling (in case you have a product, I don’t have one!!!) so… I am into selling ads at the mean time!

Probably I will take another step toward design blogging niche, it’s that kind of high traffic, and for me I think I can do more with it! I already setup my design blog, I will share it when it’s ready!
