There’s been many articles written about how good, bad and indifferent Google+ is compared with other social media networks like Facebook and Twitter.
Personally, I thought that Google+ is just a Facebook clone when I first saw it! But UMPF’s favourite debate is the ongoing It’s Really Popular Vs It’s A Ghost Town one, that’s an interesting infographic by UMPF that I want to share with you today.
UMPF:
So what’s the truth? Our findings and infographic (see below) appear to suggest the latter: despite its large number of accounts, G+ is bottom of the list of social network users’ favoured channels.

Google has always struggled with its social networking ventures. Even in case of Google+, it has promoted it like anything but now cracks have gradually started to show up. Let’s see what turn it takes in future but at the moment, these news will have definitely negative impact on it.

Absolutely yes, G+ is a ghost town!! What else? Who really need Google Plus?

I think G+ is a clone of facebook. The claim they are gaining more members daily then facebook but I really doubt that statement to be true.

I simply want to lol but in due respect to Google and all its intelligence, I’m going ok with Google+ is a Facebook clone–just because whatever you do in Facebook, you simply are prompted to do the same with Google+. This is some free service from Google–if it does any good to your website, no matter how big or small, it’s good…at least IMO.

Hi Hesham,
Google + is one way to get exposure to our blogs through using it. I wrote a quote on my timeline and it actually showed up when I did a search on Google. Anyway to get traffic to our sites is fine by me. I think the majority of G+ users are bloggers as opposed to Facebook and Twitter.

It’s high time google realize they can hold everything under their exposure. facebook and twitter leads.

My testing is very interesting. I am generating a large percent of traffic to my niche site from G+.
Twitter/fb not as much I need to figure that out. The same articles get more clicks from G+ than fb and twitter combined I wonder why that is?

Let me be honest I am not a very big Google Plus Fan. Its Ok for me. I use it more for Seo purpose. I prefer Facebook to Google Plus

Hi Hesham,
I can’t believe that Google+ is down! Really, an infographic, that I think may be a great lie.
Google+ Hangouts I think, will make google much better in the future. As I’ve checked them once, and they’re really useful and funny!
Hah.
BTW, thanks for that..

Didn’t realize that no one was engaged in Google+, I assumed it was growing like earlier stories that I have read. I try to use cause I feel it is necessary for SEO and to please the company in charge of most of the traffic in the world.

Whats up Hesham! Great infographic, thanks for sharing it. After reviewing it I guess G+ IS a ghost town compared to other social media site. Twitter is clearly the most active site because of the short message length and the relative ease of sharing articles and media on it. Facebook leading the way in the sheer number of subscribers is also no surprise and the fact that G + exceeds Twitter with the number of users is mostly due to Gmail and other Google services that tie into G + and the fact that Google was pushing G + pretty hard for a while. I hear that the faastest growing social media site right now is actually Pinterest. I would like to see some stats on that if you got em. Thanks for sharing Hesham

Hi Hesham,
A bit slow on the engagement side of things but I still use it. It takes a second to Plus updates.
I also write comments. If we want it to stop being a ghost town it’s up to US to change it, right?
Thanks buddy!
Ryan

It’s a ghost town for me, that’s for sure!
Not one single person I know in my offline life uses it, but a handful in my circles are active.
I think the big issue is that G+ has inflated stats since pretty much everyone who opens a Google account for almost any Google product automatically gets G+, even if they don’t know what it is.
Thanks,
-Gabe

The problem i think with Google plus is that they automatically sign up every person who has a gmail account and that’s a little selfish
