Here are four tips to maintain a professional-looking business blog:

Remain Active

This is an area in which many businesses struggle. They understand the value and importance of a business blog so they set one up, write a few posts, and then let it sit inactive for months at a time. This simply isn’t acceptable. If you include a link to your blog content from your website, website visitors are going to click over to it. If your last post was from four months prior, that doesn’t look good. Visitors may get the impression that you are lazy or that you aren’t organized and don’t have your priorities in order. Four months is a long time. Depending on your industry, it could be very possible that your last post discusses now irrelevant information.

A business blog should be a main priority. If you can’t dedicate any time to it, don’t start one.

Monitor Comments

If you are going to allow comments on your blog posts, you need to actively monitor them. Never allow all comments to go through because you will be left with a bunch of spam comments that include links to irrelevant sites and content that isn’t even related to the post. In many cases, it will be pure gibberish. The blog comments contribute to the post quality overall. Blog visitors will take note of the fact that you don’t take the time to monitor the comments, weed out the bad ones, and respond to the good ones.

Pay for It

Never start a business blog on a free platform like Blogger or the free version of WordPress for two reasons. First, it will look like thousands of other blogs out there. Do you really want your business blog to look like Ron’s Car Fanatic blog? Second, you will have limited control. Paying to host a blog on your own site is well worth the cost.

Take Design Seriously

Businesses are judged by the look of their web properties. If your website or blog looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1999 or is hard to navigate, it leaves the visitor with a poor impression of your business. You may have great website content that is well optimized and a great product or service, but if the website looks outdated you will appear to be outdated as well. It’s important to invest in a website re-design every few years just to keep things fresh and professional looking.

Blogging in theory looks fairly easy.  To “blog” or write a web-log, seems like a simple concept.  You share your ideas in the form of an online journal, presented in a way that makes the information helpful and easy to read.  But in practice, to be a successful blogger, is much more than theory, and more like a learned skill.  To accomplish your blogging goals requires careful planning and strategy, selective use of keywords to best represent your blogging brand, and a little bit of skill in writing on the side.

Bloggers need all the help they can get.  And this is where a Blog Challenge can provide that help.

But what is a Blog Challenge?

A Blog Challenge is basically an event or contest, in which many bloggers participate, watched over by a moderator, in which bloggers must achieve a certain outcome by the end of the challenge.

A Blog Challenge is beneficial to bloggers for the following reasons:

• You get to network and make friends with other bloggers, striving to build their blogs, just like you.
• You are pushed to develop blogging discipline, to develop good blogging habits, and set some basic standards.
• You get support and feedback on your blog from other bloggers, which can point you in the right direction to improve your blog.
• You can get excellent exposure, and higher levels of traffic.
• You understand the pressure to achieve a blogging goal.

Of course, it’s important to remember, that you only get from the challenge what you personally put in.  If you want support, you must take the time to give support.  If you want comments and feedback on your blog, you also must provide comments and feedback to other bloggers.

A Blog Challenge is a big commitment, and you should only join if you are willing to go the distance.  This means making an effort to set aside time to work on your blog and support fellow bloggers along the way.  But if you are dedicated, the results can be better than you expected, and will last long after the challenge has ended.

After installing WordPress new blog, you will notice that your account user name is “admin”, almost all Hackers knows about this, and probably they will try to hack your account using the user name “admin” as a first try thinking that you didn’t change it, this makes their job more easier because they know your user name which means 50% of information they actually need to hack your site.

You will notice that you can not change your user name from your account, and probably you don’t want to change it in a complicated way by editing your database record where your user name and password are saved!
