Another exciting thing happened today while I was checking my WordPress stats, I found FamousBloggers ranked #41 on a daily ranking of marketing blogs called Advertising Age’s Power 150, I have visited this site the first time after I sow the badge on Chris Brogan‘s blog which is #1 on the list, I knew that time that Ad Age’s Power 150 grabs your blog data and calculate your rank, so I said to myself why not submitting my blog?!
Basically, whenever I came across some nice sites that measure ranking or a directory I don’t hesitate to register the blog, it doesn’t really take too much time to register and adding the blog info, then you can simply forget about it and wait until you hear good news then you can update your advertising page and add a nice badge to it showing the live ranks of your blog to advertisers.

I did a fast search on Chris Brogan’s blog to see what he say about, and I find this so funny when @chrisbrogan said to a few people that if he got to #1 on the Advertising Age Power150, he’d shave his head in tribute to Seth Godin @ThisIsSethsBlog which is ranked #4 now according to Ad Age Power 150, and latter a technological glitch hit him and he actually he had to keep his word 
I am not sure what exactly I will do if I got ranked #1 I probably will not shave my head because there is nothing too much to shave so you tell me lol!

Yes, I am… and I know it’s not so hard to reach the top, but the most hardest thing is to stay there, some people will say ranking is not important, but for me it’s so important to get ranked higher and show the world that we are ranked by important sites and in a good company all the time, and the amazing this is we compete with some big names, I know it doesn’t make sense to some, but it makes a lot of sense to me because I am not a lazy blogger, I don’t get enough rest, I don’t sleep the same hours like the book said, I work while YOU are sleeping hopefully the next coming 6 month will witness a big move for FamousBloggers.net, and this will not benefit me or our blogging team only, but will beginning all our blogging community, and if you know me well… you will know that I don’t like to play alone!
What’s the Advertising Age Power 150 requirements?
The minimum requirements for addition to the Power 150 are not high, but here are the basics:
- The blog must be operating for the past 6 months and have at least 50 posts.
- At least half of the blog’s content must pertain directly to marketing.
- Blogs must score 40 objective points.
I got this from their FAQ page, so… make sure to read it first before you submit your blog!

Recently, it was told to me that I’m also ranking in there in top 50 blogs but the interesting part after watching my blog in that list was that my blog is listed 2 times in that list..And funny part is that currently, one listing is ranking above your blog and one below your blog.
That seriously raises the question that how come my blog is having two different rankings in that list.. :-/

Ya, I think so..I added my blog in a hurry once that’s why my country for one listing is US and for other listing is India…lol, I did a partition of my body that lives at two place and blogs.

Sorry, but this is just way, way too tempting. I have my own before/after photos up at http://www.thehappyguy.com/beard3.html Before, beard, with beard, shaving i off, and after beard. And although the whole beard thing had nothing to do with marketing, as you can see I was not above making the montage as part of an all-in-fun marketing page.
Man, you look more older with beard (like most of men) and yeah it has anything to do with marketing

It was by accident, really. I got lazy on vacation, didn’t shave, then with a few weeks of growth I was curious to see how it looked. I don’t think it’s really worth trying, unless you’re bored.

Congrats for this awesome feat. Being ranked on the AdAge is not just for rankings but also for recognition purposes. The Power 150 badge shows the world (specially advertisers, lol) that your blog is among the most highly ranked marketing blogs in the world. That’s is something. Fortunately, my blog was also ranked and is also included (see my badge on the footer section of my blog). Don’t rank as high as you but I am also there. Together we will rule, haha. On a side note, I don’t think that it is easy to get in there. Their ranking factors are quite demanding so the fact that you are there only proves the hard work you have put in and is nothing but a reflection of this. Once again, kudos my friend. You deserve every single star you possess.

On a side note, my blog isn’t old enough to go up there just yet but I’ll be sure to revisit in the near future.
There’s a lot of great benefits of using badges on your website, it adds a ton of credibility although sometimes they look a little tacky. However, the Power150 badges is one that is recognized quite universally online so it should fit right in.
I say go for it, see what people say about it, let it keep track of the website and see where it progresses. Best of luck!

I think that’s smart because, like the old saying, less is more.
Sure you could advertise a dozen other websites but you can’t command the same amount as you would if you kept it to a reserve amount.
Imagine from an publishers perspective: you can buy an ad on a blog that has 11 other advertisements – what’s the chance your ad will be clicked overall, the click through.
However, if you had an exclusive spot, it would be more valuable to the advertiser because they have a greater exposure and possibility of click through.
In turn, you’d be able to command a higher advertising rate due to exclusivity.
One final benefit is that you could more easily work with the advertiser. If they’re the only one on the blog, you could cut a deal by reviewing them, giving them greater exposure which in turn could earn you more due to a better relationship.
I always love minimal design, it helps show off the content which is my main goal while writing.
