Just a decade ago, blogs were created as a way to release creativity and to share your ideas with others. While much of the content was valuable, few people dreamed that they could make money by sharing their ideas. Today, there are thousands of blogs out there, and some writers are working off of their websites part-time or even full-time.
Before you get started, consider the top six ways you can possibly make money from your blog.
Choose a Professional Venue
Nothing screams amateur more than a subpar website. At the same time, you don’t want to shell out thousands of dollars to a web designer. This is especially the case if you are just starting out and haven’t made any money off of your blog yet. By choosing a professional website builder, you can rest assured that you will have the templates to enhance your quality content.
Choose Automatic Traffic
Another perk to choosing a website builder is that the venue can automatically help increase traffic to your blog. These companies already have relationships with internet marketers, so they can help create ways to enhance traffic to your site based on keywords and your overall content.
Allow Ad Spots
Ads are another primary method of making money with a blog. By featuring national ads on your blog, you can earn some cash every time a reader views the company’s products or services. While the percentage might be minimal at first, the earnings can add up as your blog and web traffic grows.
Solicit Local Ads
If you have a more specific niche, you might consider soliciting local businesses to advertise on your blog. Generally, this method is utilized by more seasoned bloggers because local businesses are more interested in spending money on more established online publications. By keeping your content fresh and relevant, you can create a sizeable portfolio that will eventually convince businesses to advertise on your blog.
Affiliations
Another money-making method is to allow affiliate links on your blog. For example, if there are books relevant to your niche, you can work with the publisher to create an affiliate link on your website. Every time one of your readers purchases the book, you get a percentage of the cut.
Your Own Goods
Are you the author of a book or an e-book? Do you craft your own goods? Then by all means, add these links to your website!
You will find that both your blog traffic and other business ventures grow stronger when they are connected together in this way.
It takes time to make a web presence with your blog, and this isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme by any means. However, with a little bit of time and perseverance, it is possible to make a part-time income off of your quality blog. All you have to do is learn how to match the right money-making opportunities with the great content you write.

Hi Hesham
I want to ask one thing, you’ve mentioned about the automated traffic, Do you think this automated traffic helps to grow your blog.
Hesham Zebida January 12, 2013 at 3:50 pm
Automate traffic here means organic traffic, so basically that’s the traffic you get from search!
Tauseef Alam January 13, 2013 at 1:46 pm
Hi
Thanks for clear my doubt. I was thought you’re talking about some traffic exchange technique.

You have developed some great products like thesis skin and plugin are another example. There are endless opportunities of getting returns from a blog but its best to focus on money making ways once the blog is in driving a lot of organic traffic and which helps targeting, trying to monetize early isn’t good.

You need to write the articles to make the visitors stay on site, this will decrease bounce rate and increase ranking in search engine. Also Google adsence is the best deal.

What could be better if you have your own goods to sell through your blog. But for beginners, Adsense and Affiliate marketing can be a good source of revenue to begin with.
I guess I did not get you properly in first two tips. Do you mean it is better to hire a website designer for blogs?
babanature November 19, 2012 at 6:41 pm
The best way to make money with your blog is to truly know what your audience need. Monetizing your blog with Google adsense is far the best and can yield income at the end of the day.
Jon November 17, 2012 at 3:04 pm
Monetizing is a bit of a trial and error process. Sometimes you know what will work; most times it’s uncertain. I find that articles about particular product is easy to monetize; while more informational articles may be tricky.
One additional method all bloggers should consider is instead of going for the immediate sale/click on the site is to get visitors to sign up for an e-newsletter and then monetize the newsletter. Some bloggers focus exclusively on this method.

I personally like making money through advertisements the most. Though I mostly get private advertisers to contact me directly, even using a medium like BuySellAds isn’t bad for those who are unable to get direct ad sales.

Hi Hesham,
These are amazing tips to earn money via the blogging. I have recently experienced that direct ads are overtaking many other ways of earning money via blogs. what do you say on this?
Hesham Zebida November 10, 2012 at 12:52 pm
Not true!
Hamza Sheikh November 10, 2012 at 1:23 pm
But I have seen big companies like Nokia, Samsung are spilling lot of money in the online campaigns, a part from the Google Adwords.
I have many friends in my list running their local blogs, and on those blogs they didn’t even able to earn $100, but after the direct ads their earnings boom to $5000.

i think it all depends on the traffic and your ad placements , Adsense is no doubt the highest paying if you put your ads in the annoying places for clicks. direct advertisers ask for too much from small time bloggers.

There are lot of competitors around, and to get ads for your blog, you need nothing but traffic and readers. This is as easy as writing in an exam, but traffic and audience is the key to success.
