I still think keyword stuffing has its place.

Obviously, any blogger or article marketer want to write first and foremost for people, because, in the end, great and informative content will be the only thing that stays afloat.

But, I feel that if you write an article for people and then go back and strategically place a few keywords just to get their density up over one percent, it will be very beneficial in terms of on page SEO.

It has been working for me.

Keyword stuffing is a pet hate of mine. I've had people ask me to write content for them with a 20% keyword density in a 250 word paragraph and of course said "no way".

The argument I like to use is: "if you owned an offline store and someone walked in to buy something would you just repeat the same thing over and over again to them?" - not very likely and if you did, they would think you were strange and probably leave without making a purchase.

Bloggers love content! In many cases you can get a one way backlink by writing an article for them. Great list, I still laugh when people ask me to steal their competitors meta tags!

I do think that link exchange still works, it just has to be thematic/relevant and non-abusive. With regards to using keywords within content, it's safe to just mention the targeted keyword at the first part of the content, and keep the body's keyword density to at least 0.6% - 2%. However, there's no really limitations in using your keyword in the content, as long as it's necessary to be mentioned, then don't hesitate to include it. Just remember that you are writing for real people and not just for search crawlers.

Hey Mayur. There are more effective ways to utilize your time when it comes to SEO. Optimum off-site SEO is a more powerful strategy then relying on Google's Webmaster Tools. The main point I have to back up my reasoning is the semantic web. Letting Google discover your inbound links placed within context off-site will greatly increase your link juice. If you want to submit an XML sitemap, go ahead and if you are using a platform like WordPress that builds it out for you then it makes things much easier but if you must create it yourself, that can be daunting and time consuming. Thus spending that time working on off-site SEO will be better time spent.

Thanks! I love the feedback. :)

Hey Karen. Great observation. :) The nofollow attribute can be confusing because obviously the term nofollow would make anyone assume that search engines are not going to follow this link to see where it goes. However this isn't true in all cases and if it was, then it would really defeat the effectiveness of creating a semantic web.

So, to answer your question. Yes, Twitter links are nofollow but that doesn't mean that Google will not index the links. It means that it will not effect your site's PageRank or link juice. Only in my example I suggest that links on Twitter will help Google to discover you site, not necessarily increase its SERP.

Thanks Karen for the question! :) Cheers

Well, I had just launched a niche site and I must say that It got indexed and started ranking for the targeted keywords.
Moreover, Webmaster tools were created a long time ago and algorithms have changed a lot.
