Imagine if you hired 100 designers at the same time to do your logo design! Who can do that?! This sound crazy, but it is not impossible even for small business owners. So, let me show you how simple it is to get more than 100 logo professionals to work hard on your logo design, following your instructions, wishes and needs with out complaining, and the good part is you don’t have to pay all of them, you will just need to pay for one design, the winner logo.

Here is how to get your Logo Design

Talking about contests recently became a hobbit for me, specially with the great results we can get by running online contests and get benefits from the challenge, so the easy way to get tons of custom logo designs to choose from is to start a logo contest. by this way you can involve a quite good number of designers to work on your logo design and guarantee great results!

Ok, this is the fun part, the good news is you don’t have to do any hard work at all, the good guys at Logomyway.com own a great logo designers community, and they will do all the work, actually they has a very nice system to run logo design contests.

All what you have to do is to set your logo specifications and how you want it, where you will use it, and give the guys 5 days to rain you with so many unique and custom designed logos made specially to meet your business needs, isn’t it amazing?!

I don’t know, but being involved in online contests, I have organized more than one online contests in the last a few months, and I know what I am talking about, I feel really excited to grow my knowledge about contest, so I am after any new techniques regarding this issue.

I have just found a Treasure of Logos

I just have to say this but being a designer myself, I’m no fan of spec work.

Sadly the trend has gone to this, before our only problem were the low-ballers bidding design work for cheap on eLance and oDesk but now you have this, working a few hours for free with hopes of winning to get paid.

you have got to be kidding me. Timing could not have been any more perfect with this post. I was going to use 99 designs for my next design project, but this seems to be a much better resource. Thank you so much for letting me know about it.

While these kind of “logo contest” sites are getting more popular, and surely have their place for small business wanting a quick logo on the cheap, serious business owners should remember that a logo is not just a pretty little thing that you choose. It is a well researched and perfectly executed peice of design tailored specifically to the needs and target markets of the business.
I’m not getting getting on my high horse at all i do think there is a place for these kind of things, and I agree they are helpful for small business, and designers wanting experience or practice.
It just seems people are forgetting that the thing that seperates a good logo from an amazing logo is the amount of experience a logo designer has. And i can tell you that a majority of designers submitting to this kind of “contest” will have alot less experience than a professional Logo designer.

So YOU set the price and they do the logo?

Any idea the most someone has spent for one?

There is a minimum price to start a logo contest decide by the owners of the site, it’s not less than $200 and up to $1000 I think!

Definitely a great service for small businesses but I wonder what kind of designers are willing to work for free in the hope of winning a contest?

- Think about it as a competition, and the nature of humans that they like to compete and win!

- Think about the whole world and how many internet users today!

- Think about the economic crises and how many designers can not find a job today!

And you will find an answer to this good questions!

By the way, design contests in general is very high competition since start art in art school and they start pushing you to design to compete and do your best to win a prize!

I think a lot of sites that do that, sitepoint also has something like this, I had participated in one contest like this, didn’t win though

The good thing behind logomyway.com is that they are specialist on that, and they have a very easy system! so sitepoint is not specialist on logo contests .. right? ;)

Logo contests are great. Not only will you get a quality logo for you site, but you can also gain a lot of traffic back to your site as well, depending how you run the contest.

Wow! I just took a look at http://www.logomyway.com portfolio from the post and it really does look amazing. They have designers from all over the world. I need a logo for my software company. I’m going to give them a try.

I hadn’t heard about them yet, but I will consider them. While my own Photoshop experiment didn’t turn out too badly, having a professional design will make a big difference. A $200 minimum price seems a bit hefty at first, but considering that someone may spend many hours to making a logo without even winning, I think it’s a fair deal. For sure, I will have a lot more to chose from than just asking someone to come up with something. Thanks for the tip.

Thinking about the price comparing with what you will get, I think $200 is not that high price, and actually you are going to pay the same amount if you hire a pro designer! unless you go for what ever designer that ask for $20 to $50 for making you only 2 or 3 different logos to choose from!

I am also thinking to use their service even if I am a designer, but I am not that good with logos :) I have done a fast logo for our FamousBloggers.net blog, and I never like it lol! so maybe I will start a logo contest one day!

Here is another similar service http://www.logotournament.com

I have never used them before but I’ve heard good things about them. Their website says you can start a tournament at $250. Their website says choose from 50 to 200 designs.

CrowdSpring is another service that is exactly like this.

I like to use these type of services because when you are done and by chance you are not chosen, you can automatically turn around and make the logo a general one, and offer it in your portfolio. Again, that is if the logo does a good job representing your talents.

I have used a contest to get a logo designed before. It was a great experience because instead of having one designer with 2-3 versions, you can have 20+ designers fighting for your money.
